[Hunk flashes Reim a smile before moving to grab the pastries from the counter. Arranging them on a plate, he goes over to the barista station to pick out the special herbal blend Kevin had introduced him to. Setting up the tea pot with the mesh insert, Hunk puts it together with a delicate tea cup and the pastries on a tray.]
All right... One chocolate croissant, one apple butter horn, and one pot of our best herbal blend tea.
[Hunk sets the tray on the table, and gives the guy another smile.]

[ So Pidge is not actually scheduled to work at the bakery today but she's popping into the kitchen anyway. She makes sure to move into Hunk's line of sight but doesn't interrupt him should he be in the middle of doing something important such as wielding a knife or dealing with a hot pan. Instead she hops up on a stool and waits for an opportunity. And if she eats a couple of the treats laying around, who can blame her?
There is one odd thing about her today and it's the mechanical bird sitting on her shoulder. ]

[Hunk is a tad busy when Pidge first arrives, but it's nothing that he can't multitask with. Kneading bread is a relatively mindless task. After all, it's all about how the dough feels under hand. So, when the smaller Green Paladin gets settled, Hunk looks up and flashes her a smile.]

[ It's not the first time Pidge had bothered Hunk while he's had his hands full, even here she sometimes pops into the back when things are slow. She's perfectly content to just sit and watch Hunk work until he reaches a point where he can divide his attention. ]

[The Yellow Paladin looks extremely touched by this sudden, random gift. Dusting his hands off, he moves in closer to see the bird a bit more clearly.]
Oh man, oh man, I can really have it? What does it do? Do I gotta feed it anything? Tell me about it, Pidge!

Once I'd built one there was just no other name more appropriate for them.
[ Pidge pokes the bird and it looks at her before hopping down her arm and more towards Hunk. The girl holds it out for inspection. ]
Yeah man! Who else would I give a Hunk-customed bird too? [ That question makes her grin and she pushes her glasses up. ] It has a bunch of different features. It'll find one of the other Pidge-ons if you end up in trouble and can't use your amulet. Or deliver messages instead of getting one of the real birds to do it. Plus it's bakery-approved so it can hang out with you in here all day. It plays music but only a couple of songs at a time, I'm working on making it more but you can always change them.

Yours can tell you when customers come in or as a timer, letting you know when something's done baking or alert you if the bakery's on fire. You know, just in case. Keith's will let you know if someone vandalizes the bakery while you're out or asleep. [ Which was... a last minute feature considering all that's happened this month. ]
They don't eat but will need to be oiled every once in a while. Every three days they'll go into stand-by mode over night to recharge so you can Keith can switch so one's always active when you sleep.

Jeez, you always think of everything, Pidge. It's adorable, and sounds perfect to have around on the busier days here. Hopefully this will mean less burnt rolls in the long run. [The baker chuckles as he gently runs a finger over the top of the Pidgeon's head.] Keith is getting one too? Then I better wait to name mine until we put them together. That way we can give them a fun combo name!
