There's a couple of minutes that pass before Hunk's reply comes through. Minutes he spent panicking as he realizes that yeah, duh, they're not from the same point in time!!!]

Where are you right now? You haven't left yet, right? Are you still at the house?

[Those couple minutes are about all Shiro's pokemon need to get the 'Gear for themselves. Specifically, Haunter. It's Haunter, Kuro and Luna the Meowth huddled on the porch stairs now. With Haunter mashing buttons as the other two keep their trainer connected to earth.]

[The second he gets that text he pushes himself up, off the sand where he had been hanging out with Shay and Tama. Picus was babysitting the babies, being able to keep an aerial view on them was a definite perk. The Rockruff and Espurr look up in alarm as their trainer takes off, and the immediately follow after him.

It takes a couple of minutes for Hunk to make it back to the house, coming to a huffing and puffing stop.]

Shi-huffhuff-Shiro... I-wheeze-I'm... Ugh... I'm sorry...

[It's okay buddy. He'll be fine. Probably. When he does get there, though, Shiro is basically surrounded by that big Aggron of his, curled up around. Kuro's tongue dragging over his metal arm like a rasp. While Luna the Meowth keeps dutifully kneading one of Shiro's legs, little claws gently pricking skin.]

[Haunter is there too, sitting on the porch rail and swinging its legs. It waves to Hunk, too.]

Hey. Easy... catch your breath.

[Because hi Hunk, your well-being is clearly more important here.]

[Hunk takes a minute or two to calm his breathing down to a reasonable level. Once he has he looks at Shiro with immense concern.]

Dude, I'm so sorry I didn't say something sooner. I didn't... I didn't think to ever ask you what you last remembered from home, or knew about that is. I wouldn't have been so careless with my words if I had known. I'm really sorry, Shiro.

Hunk. Hey. It's okay.

[It's not really okay. But it's also not Hunk's fault. He's not blaming him, at least.]

You didn't know. I didn't say anything. This... really isn't your fault.

What... What is the last thing you remember?

[Knowing that will give him a better place to start his own explanation.]

We broke into the Galra hub. Allura and I were doing recon.

[He says it quietly. Very carefully. Because what happened in there hasn't stopped haunting him. Even having Allura herself tell him it wasn't his fault -- that everything ended for the better...]

[He still sees her face, sliding away behind the doors.]

She was taken.

[Hunk feels his heart fall into his stomach. That... that was so long ago to him. So many things had happened since that moment!]

Okay, so... I am from a point way past that. Obviously. Considering what I said over the gear a few minutes ago, but uhm... What, what would you like to know? Do you wanna know everything? At the very least you should know that we find you again, and things get back to normal! So, so, no worries about that.

[His real fingers have started to bury themselves in his Meowth's fur. She just sprawls on his lap, purring -- that's how you help humans stay coherent!]

I don't -- I don't know right now, Hunk.

[It's somewhat comforting, though. That Hunk can tell him it wasn't such a permanent... vanishing. Just thinking that word makes his shoulders tense up all over again.]

Is everyone okay?

[He notices how tense Shiro is. The way his Pokemon are surrounding themselves around him. Taking a seat next to him, he gives the other what he hopes is a reassuring smile.]

Everyone is just fine, Shiro. We've done a lot since the point you've come from. There's been a lot of ups and downs, but when I was brought here, we had just dealt a really big blow to the Galra. We freed like a third of the systems under Zarkon's rule. It was really hard, but we did it.

[It's a big, vague way to sum up what's gone on, but Hunk figures that knowing the overall outcome without all the dirty details is probably best for right now.]

[It's hard not to smile when Hunk does. He just radiates good will. His comes out a little more strained, but -- it's there.]

Knowing you guys are all right -- that's good. That helps.

[As if taking the cue from the words, Kuro swings his big head around to butt it into Hunk's shoulder. You're a good guy. He likes him already.]

We did? That's... that's even better.

[Kuro is definitely strong enough to almost knock Hunk over. With a soft chuckle, he brings a hand up to gently pat the giant Pokemon's head.]

Yeah, we did. It was a tough battle, but we managed it in the end thanks to some unlikely help. I don't know what happens past that though.

[There's an appreciative rumble from the big guy. Hunk wins for favorite Paladin.]

I'm glad to hear it. That you guys are all right... it's definitely important to know.

[No matter what happens.]
